Found this one is a recent Daily Candy and must say the name does it justice.  I LOVE it! Amazing logo, great packaging, cool website – mycurrylove.com – I mean even the navigation buttons are clever.  Talk about branding – well done Curry Love! And that’s not all I LOVE…the product is USDA Organic and a member of 1% for the Planet.  I had not heard of this organization until I clicked on the beautiful blue logo on the Curry Love Website. What a program…but that’s another blog post all together. But wait here’s the kicker, I haven’t even had my first taste. My LOVE stems soley from the sheer brillance of the branding, packaging & mission of the company. (But perhaps its time to change that, I am a little hungry).

I’ve been seeing this commercial lately for the new Toyota Prius, and I have to say, I love it. It’s managed to make me feel really good about the product, which is odd, because despite being a car that’s better for the planet, I feel like it’s also completely overpriced. Nonetheless, the creators of this spot were very imaginative. The commercial is bright, colorful… and yes, a tad creepy… but in the end, just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

fling1We’d have to give the award for Best Branding at Shecky’s to Fling Chocolates. They had a great booth that featured “The Chateau Fling” and invited you to get your picture taken having a “fling” with a model. Their overall design is fun & flirty and perfectly targeted at the 20-30 something females who were at the event. They gave out product samples (which were yummy chocolate bars with a mere 80 calories!) and cards which then directed us to their website where we could check out our picture and even put it on the cover of a “tabloid” magazine. Talk about consumer interaction! Check out more flingy-ness on the next page…

soyjoyI stumbled upon SoyJoy’s website, which explores the history of the soy bean. I know… sounds pretty boring, huh? I mean, come on… soy beans are great and all, but… do I need a time line documenting important dates in the life of soy? After going through this beautifully designed page, the answer is yes. Yes I do. Even though I grew up with a soy bean field literally in my backyard, I never appreciated this tiny plant more than I do now, after perusing this lovely site. Here’s to you, tiny green plant. Here’s to you.

    sportiqe

These guys are on to something…they have taken the t-shirt and made it 100 times better. Not only is the material ultra-soft and comfortable but the designs are spot on.  Think vintage!

NBA fans they’ve got you covered – find your team at www.sportiqeboutiqe.com or if you’re out in LA stop into a Nordstroms and pick one up – come on playoffs are in full swing!

My personal favorite  – their pin-up line now available at all Urban Outfitters!

    sundancechannel

Wow, I just got hooked on the Sundance Channel… their website is hilarious. I’m completely addicted to Green Porno, a series of short films simplifying the reproductive habits of animals. The clips are both funny and informative—what a great combo. Go here to check it out! While you’re there, you can take a quiz to see what your seduction style is… and answer questions like the one posted above!

    babytattoo

In honor of my soon-to-be-born nephew, I present Baby’s First Tattoo—A Memory Book for Modern Parents. While I am by no means a “baby person,” this book by Jim Mullen cracked me up so much that I had to get it for the baby shower. This is not your typical “Baby’s-First” book, and contains often forgetten precious moments such as Baby’s First Projectile Vomit, Baby’s First Tantrum in a Crowded Grocery Store, and Baby’s 10,000th Dirty Diaper. The illustrations by Barry Blitt are just as humerous as the writing… Buy it for the next baby shower you have to attend here. And stay tuned for my upcoming post on The Top Ten Annoying Toys That I Can’t Wait To Buy For My Brother’s Child.

Our friend Thomas Lynch is an amazing illustrator! His work is completely out of this world… pardon my cliche. Apart from being extremely talented, I hear he’s been a bit sleep deprived lately. Check out more of his stuff here
