    hometown1

Just got back from a visit to my hometown in Marshall, Michigan. Wandered around downtown and took some photos… I have to say, it was fun to take a fresh look at what I’ve known my whole life.

Check out the next page for more photos.

    HOW2

    HOW3

Looking back now on the past week that I spent in Austin for the HOW Design Conference. This first picture was a full circle rainbow that I saw out the plane window on the way over… pretty amazing! Apparently it’s called a “glory” which I think is a pretty good name for it. When I landed, I wandered around town for a bit… Austin is seriously hot. I had to duck into a different store/restauant/pub/museum every other block just to get some air conditioning going on. But it made me explore some places that I might not have other wise. Check out the next page for some more shots around town…

    fairytale1

Some great/insightful photography by Dina Goldstein over at JPG Magazine. Each shot shows a fairy tale princess in real world scenarios, from Belle undergoing plastic surgery, to an overweight Little Red Riding Hood. Definately an original concept that invites conversation…

aquariumI spent some time up in Monterey last week… I do love it up north. The air is so fresh, the water is so clear… oh, and they have a great aquarium! My favorite exhibits were the giant kelp forest and the jellyfish. I wonder if jellyfish are actually aliens from another planet? Watching them made me feel like maybe Earth has already been invaded… Just a thought. Here are some of the pictures I took.

I got a new camera yesterday and couldn’t be happier! There’s nothing quite like a new toy… Today was a beautiful day so I took it along with me on a little walk around my neighborhood. It’s amazing how much natural beauty surrounds us just outside our own back door. Here are a few of my discoveries that brightened my day…
