Just got back from a visit to my hometown in Marshall, Michigan. Wandered around downtown and took some photos… I have to say, it was fun to take a fresh look at what I’ve known my whole life.

Looking back now on the past week that I spent in Austin for the HOW Design Conference. This first picture was a full circle rainbow that I saw out the plane window on the way over… pretty amazing! Apparently it’s called a “glory” which I think is a pretty good name for it. When I landed, I wandered around town for a bit… Austin is seriously hot. I had to duck into a different store/restauant/pub/museum every other block just to get some air conditioning going on. But it made me explore some places that I might not have other wise. Some great/insightful photography by Dina Goldstein over at JPG Magazine. Each shot shows a fairy tale princess in real world scenarios, from Belle undergoing plastic surgery, to an overweight Little Red Riding Hood. Definately an original concept that invites conversation…

I spent some time up in Monterey last week… I do love it up north. The air is so fresh, the water is so clear… oh, and they have a great aquarium! My favorite exhibits were the giant kelp forest and the jellyfish. I wonder if jellyfish are actually aliens from another planet? Watching them made me feel like maybe Earth has already been invaded… Just a thought. Here are some of the pictures I took.

I got a new camera yesterday and couldn’t be happier! There’s nothing quite like a new toy… Today was a beautiful day so I took it along with me on a little walk around my neighborhood. It’s amazing how much natural beauty surrounds us just outside our own back door. Here are a few of my discoveries that brightened my day…
