Just got back from a visit to my hometown in Marshall, Michigan. Wandered around downtown and took some photos… I have to say, it was fun to take a fresh look at what I’ve known my whole life.

Great short clips of scenes around New Zealand from Chris Benny Imaging. Very inspiring.

Looking back now on the past week that I spent in Austin for the HOW Design Conference. This first picture was a full circle rainbow that I saw out the plane window on the way over… pretty amazing! Apparently it’s called a “glory” which I think is a pretty good name for it. When I landed, I wandered around town for a bit… Austin is seriously hot. I had to duck into a different store/restauant/pub/museum every other block just to get some air conditioning going on. But it made me explore some places that I might not have other wise. Wow… I had such a great time at the HOW Design Conference last week. I’m not even quite sure where to begin! Right now, I’m just trying to organize my thoughts, notes & pictures into some sort of form that makes sense. There’s nothing like a whirlwind trip to rejuvenate the mind, body & soul. However, soooo glad to be back in the land of “sane” temperatures… I think it got up to 104 degrees in Austin! Will post more shortly…

Found this great interactive map on Good this morning illustrating “history’s greatest journeys.” Pretty fun to click around and discover different explorer’s routes… both historical and fiction. I especially found the “Journey To The Center Of The Earth” to be entertaining.

I spent some time up in Monterey last week… I do love it up north. The air is so fresh, the water is so clear… oh, and they have a great aquarium! My favorite exhibits were the giant kelp forest and the jellyfish. I wonder if jellyfish are actually aliens from another planet? Watching them made me feel like maybe Earth has already been invaded… Just a thought. Here are some of the pictures I took.
